Sooo.... The exciting thing I was going to post 2 months ago...

Sorry to keep you all hanging for so long but I will finally tell you all the exciting news!!! (now that most of you already know =]) Kaci and I got a dog!! Her name is Zola and she is a beautiful little boxer. We got her at the age of 6 weeks old and this is what she looked like...

Kaci and I drove all the way to Sedalia, MO to get her.  She is a full blood boxer but is not registered. We got to see both the mom and dad and they were both great looking dogs with good personalities. The mom was pretty small only about 40 lbs and the dad was about 90 lbs. We were really hoping that she was going to be her moms size at 40 lbs.  From the size of her paws in this picture things aren't looking up.  As a matter of fact everyone who sees her says right away "oh my god, look at them paws, she's gonna be huge!" Lol thank you, just what we didn't want. Oh well, we still love her and I say this as she now sits beside Kaci on the couch and is snoring very loudly.

Zola is now 4 months old and as crazy as ever! Every now and then she will get a huge burst of energy and just run around the entire place from the kitchen to the living room, onto the couch, back to the kitchen, on to my chair etc. Our place is a little small for this kind of energy. She knocks down all kinds of stuff in her burst of energy. 

The last couple of weeks we have taken her to the dog park quite a bit. She LOVES the dog park. As soon as we let her off the leash she's off to the races for the first thing closest to her. Doesn't matter if it's a dog or a person. We usually stay for an hour or two by which time she usually is pretty worn out. 

One thing she really likes doing is running within about 20 ft of a dog that is not paying attention and then suddenly crouching down for the hunt. She lays there until the dog gets close enough and then attacks. It's pretty funny to watch her. 

There are no dogs big or small, grumpy or happy that she doesn't want to play with. The first day at the park she spent a good amount of time trying to play with a huge Great Pyrennes.
